Big endgame update for 'The Division 2' delayed to February 2022
Ubisoft surprised The Division 2 players back in March, after the final season dropped for the game. It turned out it wasn’t the final season at all, which is surely a meta-comment on how the game itself only really kicks off once the credits have already rolled.
The new season will make that endgame even more meaningful, too. While we don’t know a great deal about it, we know it’s going to be a significant content drop, like finding a pair of leather kneepads that give you +99 defense.
Originally, the update was planned to land at the end of 2021, but Ubisoft has now pushed it back to February 2022. The developer says this means the team doesn’t have to compromise “on quality and ambition for this new content”.
When it does land, it will bring “significant endgame changes and features”, as well as an all-new game mode for the series. Any bets on a battle royale? Anyone?
Since the announcement back in March, The Division 2 players have been satiated with reruns of previous seasons. If you’re hankering to jump into the new content, however, there will be a test run on The Division 2’s PTS on PC in January.
January is also when we’ll get a proper look at the content in the form of a new trailer, which should give you some indication of whether you want to run out and buy a PC or, you know, wait a few weeks for it to drop properly.
