Pastor accused of rape walks
A woman who laid charges of rape and theft under false pretence against a Kimberley pastor said she is disappointed that the charges were withdrawn.
|||Kimberley - A 20-year-old woman who laid charges of rape and theft under false pretence against a pastor, Treasure Nkwabela, said she is disappointed that the charges were withdrawn.
Nkwabela, 29, appeared in the Kimberley Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday following accusations that he raped the woman, who is a member of his congregation, on April 24 after he apparently promised to heal her of her demons for R25 000.
The charges were withdrawn following incomplete investigations into the matter.
The court indicated that the case could, however, be reopened when the investigations are complete.
The woman indicated that she would reopen the case against the accused.
“I was shocked to hear that the charges were withdrawn.”
