Zack Snyder Explains Why Grant Gustin's The Flash Wasn't Right For The DC Films Universe
Earlier this year, DC Films flag-waver Kevin Smith tossed out the posit that though Ezra Miller has already been cast as The Flash for the DC Films universe, Grant Gustin from The CW show could still make an appearance.
"We did a piece [on CW's advertorial 'DC Films Presents: Dawn of the Justice League'] where we talked about — I don’t know how much I’m supposed to say because they cut it out, but the idea [came up] of, 'Hey man, DC is known for nothing if not a multiverse,' so at which point I was like [to Geoff Johns], 'Could they [frick]ing crossover?' And he was like, 'Ahh.' So doors are being left open and stuff like that," the filmmaker said. However, according to Zack Snyder, a major player in the DC Films braintrust, that's not going to happen.
“I just don’t think it was a good fit,” the director told New York Daily News. “I’m very strict with this universe and I just don’t see a version where...that [tone is] not our world.”
