This weekend saw Milan Fashion Week, with Versace undoubtedly making the most noise. Closing their Spring 2020 show, Jennifer Lopez (yes, really) took to the runway, wearing a reimagined version of her iconic green Grammy dress.
The gown that she wore in 2000 is famed for being the reason behind the invention of Google Images, due to the huge amount of google searches for photos of the look. It’s hardly surprising therefore that photos of the reimagined version have already gone viral.
‘So this just happened…’, J-Lo posted to Instagram alongside a video of her walking the show, before thanking Donatella Versace.
The Climate Strike took over the UK
Friday marked the climate strikes, a worldwide protest, that was started by a group of school children.
The climate strikes saw students boycott school in order to march for action over climate change. But this march – the latest in a series spearheaded by 16-year-old Greta Thunberg – is said to be the largest so far, with hundreds of cities across the world (an estimated 150 countries took part) taking to the streets.
‘We are on school strike for the climate’, Greta Thunberg announced in a video released to her Twitter, before encouraging people to spend their Fridays waiting outside parliament to prompt action.

Saturday saw the return of Strictly Come Dancing, with the BBC show opening with a bang for 2019. From presenters Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman coordinating their jumpsuits to new judge Motsi Mabuse, this weekend’s show was definitely a shake up.
Actor Kelvin Fletcher and CBBC presenter Karim Zeroual emerged as the top scorers of the night, with Kelvin and his dance partner Oti even getting a score of 32 – the highest ever week one score – and a standing ovation. With Oti’s sister on the judging panel however, viewers have been quick to call nepotism.
‘Surely there’s a conflict of interest in having Motsi as the new judge when her sister Oti is a pro dancer competing’, tweeted one viewer, with others calling for Motsi to leave the judging panel.
We doubt anyone can dispute that Oti and Kelvin deserved that impressive 32 after watching that samba!
