Republican has good chances for ‘fantastic breakthrough’ – Karen Karapetyan
The Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) has great potentials to make Armenia a fantastically developed state, Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan said today, promising the ruling political force’s best efforts to realize the promised changes in case of election to parliament.
“There is no reason not to make it possible. Armenia will be a modern, developing and forward-looking country - governed by rule of law and preserving our traditions and unique character while being open and clear to the world. What we have today is a young country which is only 25 years old, but we are among the few ancient nations which eventually managed to build a statehood, having passed through millennia,” he said at the party’s conclusive pre-election meeting in Yerevan.
The premier also called for active citizen participation in state building processes, expressing the RPA’s commitment to embark on effective reforms after the April 2 election.
“Summing up the campaign, I really want to admit that I am now at peace with myself, because there isn’t anything which I said without feeling the responsibility,” he added.
Karapetyan, who is the RPA’s first deputy leader, described their pre-election platform as a groundwork of life-changing reforms.
“It is very ambitious and bold, realistic and rational. The [Republicans] have the willpower to realize it,” he added.
