Law Beat: Film on women law pioneers set to premiere
A key issue in a 2014 judicial race centered around the fact that no women served at the trial-level bench in the district covering Albany, Rensselaer, Ulster, Columbia, Greene, Schoharie and Sullivan counties.
[...] a new documentary — produced by the district's Gender Fairness Committee and edited and directed by College of Saint Rose student Ethan Travis— will premiere Friday at 1 p.m. at 112 State St., the Albany County office building.
Pioneering Women Judges of the Third Judicial District, recognizes the 100th anniversary of women's suffrage in New York state and is part of a continuing legal education program moderated by reporter Susan Arbetter, host of The Capitol Pressroom.
The documentary is sponsored by the Gender Fairness Committee (which Kretser chairs); Albany County Bar Association; Albany Law School; Capital District Black and Hispanic Bar Association; Capital District Women's Bar Association; Franklin H.
