Raiders’ Derek Carr ‘good to go’ for offseason workouts
PHOENIX — Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie said Monday night that quarterback Derek Carr will be “good to go” when offseason workouts start next month.
Carr broke his right leg in Week 16 of last season and had surgery to repair the fibula.
Head coach Jack Del Rio echoed McKenzie’s sentiments Tuesday at the AFC coaches’ breakfast during the NFL owners’ meetings.
McKenzie also said that “significant talks” with Carr’s agent about his next contract are upcoming. ...
McKenzie said he has been tight with the money during free agency the past month because he is preparing to hopefully reward Carr, defensive end Khalil Mack and guard Gabe Jackson with new contracts.
Lynch and former Minnesota running back Adrian Peterson have been popular choices to fill the Raiders’ running-back void, if you listen to talk radio and ESPN.
Besides no Thursday night games two time zones away, the Raiders also would like back-to-back East Coast games so that they can stay there the week in between.
