Obama Inc: Kill the Economy or All the Polar Bears Die

The polar bears are doomed! Again.

Despite thriving and growing, the polar bears are perpetually doomed. Probably because they make great poster ursines for Warmunist propaganda. And as the Obamanites prepare to transfer power, they keep trying to shove radical actions through the door.

The only way to save the polar bear population is to hit the brakes on climate change, the US Fish and Wildlife Service said in a report announced Monday.

There are about 26,000 polar bears estimated worldwide. Rising global temperatures are the biggest threat to the polar bear populations, and to the Arctic sea ice on which the mammals depend, the agency said.

“The future for polar bears is pretty bleak,” Michael Runge, a research ecologist with the US Geological Survey, and co-chair of the polar bear recovery team, told BuzzFeed News.

The future for polar bears is rather bright as the population has been steadily increasing. 

The polar bear scam depends on listing a species as endangered because of claims that Global Warming will, future tense, destroy its habitat. The scam is an unscientific joke that turns endangered species laws into yet another mandate to kill the economy, raise the price of everything and funnel billions to Big Green Business. 

Meanwhile the polar bears are doing just fine.

Let's start with what we know. Almost everybody agrees that there are between 20,000 and 25,000 polar bears alive today. Here's another thing almost everyone agrees on: That number is a whole lot bigger than it was 40 years ago.

"Polar bears are one of the biggest conservation success stories in the world," says Drikus Gissing, wildlife director for the Canadian territory of Nunavut. "There are more bears here now than there were in the recent past."

But the polar bears are doomed because of the sea ice. Except that the sea ice is actually growing.

Since hitting its earliest minimum extent since 1997, Arctic sea ice has been expanding at a phenomenal rate. Already it is greater than at the same date in 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2015. Put another way, it is the fourth highest extent in the last ten years. 

But... the ice was supposed to be extinct.

Dire predictions that the Arctic would be devoid of sea ice by September this year have proven to be unfounded after latest satellite images showed there is far more now than in 2012.

Scientists such as Prof Peter Wadhams, of Cambridge University, and Prof Wieslaw Maslowski, of the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California, have regularly forecast the loss of ice by 2016, which has been widely reported by the BBC and other media outlets.

Prof Wadhams, a leading expert on Arctic sea ice loss, has recently published a book entitled A Farewell To Ice in which he repeats the assertion that the polar region would free of ice in the middle of this decade.

As late as this summer, he was still predicting an ice-free September.

Never mind that the world didn't end. It's always ending.

Perhaps one day humanity will come together and in a fit of sanity make Warmunism extinct.
