NBC Blacked Out Golden Globes Livestream and Viewers Aren’t Happy
For viewers hoping to watch the Golden Globes on their laptops, the Peacock Network had some bad news for them.
NBC has blocked access to the livestream of tonight’s awards ceremony on their website and on Sling and DirecTV’s streaming services. In previous years, networks have made major awards ceremonies available for streaming to cable and satellite TV subscribers.
Tonight, though, NBC removed all online access of the show without warning. Attempting to access the stream on DirecTV or SlingTV gets a message saying that the Golden Globes are unavailable.

NBC Universal did not immediately respond to requests for comment about the stream blackout.
Of course, this has left a lot of NBC’s potential audience very angry.
