Minister: Armenia’s ambitions are significantly higher than 3.2% GDP growth
In his words, the 3.2% growth projected for next year is ‘satisfactory’, although the medium term ambitions should be much higher.
"The projected 3.2% economic growth will secure a short-term expansion and consequently will not allow to significantly improving the socio-economic situation. Our ambitions are much higher, but we need to prepare the foundations for the subsequent advancing economic growth,"- Aramyan said.
At that he noted that to achieve these goals the government will channel the bulk of funds not in capital construction, but in areas which will ensure the growth of productivity and boost efficiency in various industries. According to him, they are construction of roads, irrigation systems, etc., which will secure additional revenue and agricultural output.
"The only area where we can expect a significant growth is agriculture. In all other sectors there will be projected growth", - said Aramyan. -0-
