Video Game Actors Strike Goes Virtual at Noon Today
The video game actors strike is going virtual today as the Screen Actor’s Guild is calling on members and allies to join in demonstrating online instead of in real-world picket lines.
Using the hashtag #PerformanceMatters, the SAG-AFTRA picket will happen today (Nov. 22) on social media at noon PT/3 p.m. ET.
This action is happening after three separate picket lines at bricks-and-mortar video game companies since the strike began in late October.
“Our united action will help voiceover and performance capture actors receive the rights they deserve,” a statement from the actors guild read.

“We need ALL members around the country (and ask your friends to share and retweet) to participate in our virtual picket today — tweet and post in solidarity with video game performers who are fighting for transparency, secondary compensation and safety,” said the union.
Here are instructions, provided by SAG-AFTRA, on how to join in on the online strike:
Share tweets below and these images; retweet and share SAG-AFTRA’s Facebook and Twitter posts; take a solidarity selfie or group photo, use the hashtag #PerformanceMatters and post it to Twitter, Facebook or Instagram.
