Jay Z’s Tidal Sued for Sex Discrimination Over Breast-Pump Flap
Jay Z’s not gonna be pumped about this.
The hip-hop mogul’s streaming service Tidal has been slapped with a discrimination lawsuit by a woman who claims that she was denied a proper place to pump her breasts, according to court documents obtained by TheWrap.
In her suit, filed in federal court in New York on Monday, Lisette Paulson claims that she initially worked for Tidal as a consultant, but was offered a full-time job in 2015 after she gave birth to her child .

Paulson said that she discussed the need for a private area in which to breast-pump but was told to pump in a bathroom, which Paulson said “would not be feasible.” According to the suit, Paulson said that the matter would be taken up with human resources.
The next day, the lawsuit claims, Paulson was fired.
“Defendants discriminated against Plaintiff with respect to terms and conditions of her employment on the basis of her pregnancy and sex,” the lawsuit reads.

Paulson claims that she has suffered “mental and emotional distress, anguish, humiliation, embarrassment, medical, therapeutic and other expenses,lost [sic] of enjoyment of life, lost wages and benefits.”
A spokeswoman for Tidal has not yet responded to TheWrap’s request for comment.
The suit seeks unspecified damages and alleges sex and pregnancy discrimination, intentional infliction of emotional distress, breach of oral contract and other counts.
