Armenian-Russian trade relations discussed in Yerevan
Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan on Tuesday received the Russian minister of trade and industry to discuss bilateral cooperation plans.
Greeting the delegation led by Denis Manturov, who is in Yerevan to attend the international conference Anti-Counterfeit 2016, the chief of Armenia’s cabinet hailed the event as an important initiative towards creating a common platform among EEU member states. The premier highlighted particularly such sensitive issues as the protection of intellectual property rights and prohibition of illegal (counterfeit) products from the market.
The event is being held under the aegis of the Armenian Government, the Eurasian Economic Commission and the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade.
According to a press release by the Government, the sides considered plans for expanding trade-economic relations. Highlighting the high potential of developing the Armenian-Russian alliance, Premier Karapetyan stressed the importance of using all the existing platforms and opportunities to achieve their full realization. He briefed the guests on Government plans to launch investments funds to boost businesses’ activity.
At the end of the meeting, the premier asked the minister of economic development and reforms to actively collaborate with Russian colleagues to agree on issues of mutual interest.
