Armenia’s top tax official receives WB delegation
Chairman of Armenia’s State Revenue Committee Vardan Harutyunyan received on Tuesday a delegation of the World Bank headed by Mr Migara De Silva.
In the context of modernization of Armenia’s taxation system, Mr Harutyunyan highlighted Armenia’s cooperation with the World Bank.
The State Revenue Committee will continue efforts to combat shadow economy in all respects.
With respect to the World Bank Tax Administration Modernization Project, the sides highlighted successful accomplishment of the project on schedule. The sides agreed to spare no effort to ensure proper application of Armenia’s tax law by introducing an electronic system.
On his part, Mr Migara de Silva commended Mr Harutyunyan’s approach and welcomed his employing his experience in the private sector in his activities as Chairman of Armenia’s State Revenue Committee and his readiness to resolve the problem impeding progress in Armenia’s business environment.
