Houston quarterback Brock Osweiler not only had to deal with pass rusher Khalil Mack, but he also was being targeted with a laser pointer by fans.
Several green flashes appeared on the field, and replays on the “Monday Night Football” telecast showed that Osweiler was hit in the face several times.
NFL security staff hit the stands at halftime, hoping to find the culprit and remove him or her from the stadium, but the green flashes were still appearing in the third quarter.
Houston also thought that replays showed that DeAndre Hopkins scored a touchdown a couple of minutes into the game.
[...] with six minutes left in the game, it looked as if Akeem Hunt had converted a 4th-and-1, but officials spotted the ball short.
“I’m not going to sit up here and get fined,” Houston head coach Bill O’Brien said.
Jack Del Rio did it again, opting to go for it on 4th-and-1 with 58 seconds left and up seven, when the Raiders’ head coach could have played it safe and punted.
Before the game, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell met on the field with Raiders owner Mark Davis and general manger Reggie McKenzie to discuss suspended linebacker Aldon Smith, who has filed for reinstatement.
