Move over Tiwa Savage, Yemi Alade may now be Africa’s biggest female star
Yemi Alade is one person who is massively underrated by a lot of music lovers. In my opinion, she can match and even better any other female musician operating in Nigeria or even Africa presently.
Her voice is impeccable; her songs will make you dance and her general stage presence? Simply Amazing! What about her hard work? Since the release of her hit single Johnny, Yemi hasn’t looked back. Releasing 2 chart topping albums King of Queens (2014), and Mama Africa (2016), touring in almost 15 countries all over the world, something almost unheard of amongst Nigerian musicians.

And with an all-round winning attitude to boot, one would recognize that this is one woman on a mission.
She is currently in Brazil where she featured alongside international stars like Jennifer Hudson, Steve Aoki, Pixie Lott, Luan Santana, and Tan WeiWei, in Global oil and Gas Company Shell’s #makethefuture campaign.

A major takeaway from her performance is the fact that she sang in Yoruba, giving props to her culture. There are two videos of her performance. One shows her singing solo and the other shows her alongside other international stars.
