On his part, Obidigbo said APC was not the first or only political party to approach him and his co-defectors, but that they decided to join APC because “it is peaceful, has the political muscle and national spread.”
He added: “It’s not always wise to stay on the fringes, because the nation’s democratic system is such that one needs to be there when issues will be discussed for you to be properly accommodated.
“The APC leadership approached us because of our ideology, spread and numerical strength.”
Obidigbo noted that he saw the APC as the place to be if the South East geopolitical zone must be heard and considered in the scheme of things.
According to Chief Azuka Okwuosa, a chieftain and leader of the APC in Anambra state, Obidigbo’s defection is “very healthy.”
