LMC announces increased payouts for NPFL champions
– The NPFL champions this season will get N40m from the LMC
– Enugu Rangers and Rivers United are the contenders for the title
– Last season’s winners, Enyimba International were awarded N150m
The LMC has announced that a 25% increase in payouts for the winners of the 2015/16 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season.
According to a statement, the champions stand to win N40m from the Merit Award of the LMC.

Rangers International of Enugu and Rivers United of Port Harcourt are the two clubs in contention for the title with a total of N200m pool set aside by the LMC as reward for final position on the league table at the end of the season on Sunday.
Last season, Enyimba International was given N30m from a total pool of N150m and this year’s figure of N200m represents an increase of 25%.

The top three Clubs on the final table usually receive the chunk of the Merit Award which supports the clubs in CAF club competitions.
The lowest placed team in the NPFL this season would receive up to N55m in direct payments from the LMC.
Rangers are three points ahead of Rivers United with the Flying Antelopes hosting El-Kanemi Warriors at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium ad needing a point to guarantee the title.
Rivers United meanwhile face Akwa United in Uyo as the Port Harcourt side will seek to win big while hoping that Rangers will falter against their visitors.
