Consumers’ problems and territorial development: Armenia’s premier issues instructions
At a cabinet meeting on Thursday, Armenia’s Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan congratulated the newly appointed ministers and thanked them for sharing the burden of government.
At a recent meeting with representatives of the Consumers Union and businessmen much was spoken of food safety services. Given voiced discontent, the premier instructed newly the appointed minister of agriculture to conduct a survey and submit relevant proposals.
The premier issued relevant instructions to Armenia’s Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Territorial Development.
“Assets privatized for years are not operating now. So I am instructing the ministries to inventory the assets and present proposals for economic and legal mechanisms for operation of immovable property. We should motivate the owners to operate the properties,” Mr Karapetyan said.
The premier also raised the problem of territorial development.
Mr Karapetyan instructed the minister of territorial administration and development, in cooperation with a number of other ministries, to prepare proposals in conformity with the territorial development strategy within a month.
“For us to have a clear vector, and each government agency should see its course clearly, in harmony with regional development,” the premier said.
