It is often said that great readers make great leaders, it is on this premise that Reno Omorki tends to have attacked President Muhammadu Buhari.
The highly esteemed broadcaster recently put up some photos of worlds leaders reading, with a vacant space suggesting that President Buhari is not a reading leader.
Omorki’s post read: “Great leaders find books stimulating, not cartoons because the economy of their country reflects what they read.”
It would be recalled that on Thursday, August 25, President Muhammadu Buhari’s senior special assistant (Media and Publicity), Shehu Garba took to his Twitter handle to reveal what he president looks forward to every morning when he picks up a newspaper.
Garba tweeted saying: “When he picks a paper, the first page he reaches out for is the cartoon page. He laughs and laughs.”
Without wasting much time, popular BBC News broadcaster Reno Omokri immediately commented on the post saying: “Now you see why the economy is crashing? Amidst a N412 to $1 economy, our leader’s priority is laughing at cartoons!”
Reno Omorki’s post which has since gone viral, has generated some level of debate all over social media.
In reaction to Reno’s post, Izu Ojukwu said: “Nigeria will keep crushing under Buhari, he doesn’t know anything about today’s leadership.. but something greater will happen along the line.”

Elebute Ademola Quwam said: “Is that how Jonathan reads? Just slipping through…. What’s the assurance that he’s not looking for cartoons too?”
Uche Tobias said: “Why will he (Buhari) not look for cartoon, is it not the only thing he can understand?”
Akamanam Philip David said: “When you get PHD you will know how many book you would had read and written, they you will have moral right to talk about Jonathan and book, with your let my people go result you feel you have the gut to question world celebrity.”
A renowned cartoonist Mike Asukwo was not left out of the trend, as he had his own go at the situation with his craft. Below is his reaction which sparked more reactions on the issue. It was titled: “Drawing The President’s Attention”.
In reaction to Mike’s cartoon, an obviously infuriated Esio David Etim said: “Please make him laf and laf and laf till he passes on.”
Wale Akala said: “Are sure you are not planning to kill the President with laughter?”
In the same vein, J Duke Anago said: “Please dont choke our president with laughter!”

Uwem Hernan Inyang said: “And do we inform Tom and Jerry too? Might be a good way of reaching Buhari since he is now a cartoon freak.”
Alfred Awajigbanam Paul said: “Mr Cartoonist, can you help reduce my C.V into cartoon form? I am looking for Federal job.”
Isaiah Ekpenyong Mike said: “They use to say that the judiciary is the last hope of the common man, but in Nigeria, is a lie, Mike Asukwo is the last hope of the common man.”
Nwokolo Theophilus sent a message to the cartoonist saying: “Mike Asukwo hahahahahaha. Help tell presido that Dalung should steer clear of Dream team dollars. He should go and dream his own come na!”
Iyke Anthony asked the following question: “Why, will the president laugh and laugh, I think the issues raised are serious and of national interest.”
