Taylor Swift Apple Ad Gives Jimmy Eat World Song 1,500 Percent Sales Boost
Taylor Swift is doing her part to spread the word on Apple Music — and she’s doing a pretty good job of building awareness for Jimmy Eat World music, too.
An ad for Apple’s music-streaming service featuring Swift lip syncing to the 2001 Jimmy Eat World single “The Middle” gave a substantial boost to the tune with the ad’s premiere on Monday.
Apple reports that the tune has enjoyed a massive 1,500 percent lift in worldwide sales since the premiere of the ad.

Other artists also enjoyed a collateral boost; the playlist featured in the ad, The Jukebox Hits: 00s Alternative Rock, saw a 253 percent worldwide boost in sales.
Meanwhile, Internet radio service Pandora reported a 325 percent jump in station adds — that is, when a Pandora listener adds an artist’s station to his or her list — over week-ago numbers.
The ad, Swift’s second for Apple Music, features Swift selecting a playlist from Apple Music’s Activities section and jumping around while lip syncing and dancing to Jimmy Eat World’s hit “The Middle” — a rock song that was popular when she was in middle school.
