Bullies stick together: Chris Christie endorses Donald Trump
Oh, my. New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie went comparatively easy on Donald Trump during his time in the Republican presidential primary, aiming most of his attacks at Marco Rubio. But seeing Christie endorse Trump this quickly is still a surprise:
“He’s been my friend for many years, he’s been a spectacular governor,” said Mr. Trump, standing with Mr. Christie at a press conference in Fort Worth, Texas, for the endorsement.
“I am proud to be here to endorse Donald Trump,” said Mr. Christie, noting they have been friends for a decade.
Mr. Trump “will do exactly what needs to be done to make America a leader around the world again,” said Mr. Christie.
If Marco Rubio thought he was going to get a full news cycle out of his attacks on Trump at Thursday night’s debate, he can think again.
Christie, way back last summer: “Donald's a great guy and a good person. But I just don't think that he's suited to be president of the United States [...] I don't think his temperament is suited for that and I don't think his experience is.”
