Capital One Cup: Kolo Toure ready to battle brother Yaya in Sunday’s final

– Liverpool playing in their 12th final while Man City would be playing in its 5th
Liverpool will battle Manchester City in the 2016 Capital One Cup final to be played at he Wembley stadium on Sunday, 28th of February.
That final would see brothers Kolo and Yaya Toure battle and the former has warned his younger brother that he would forget family ties come kick-off.

“If we’re both out on that pitch then it’s going to be amazing to play against him in a final,” Kolo told the Liverpool.
“I hope to face him. If not, the most important thing is that my team win.
“There will be no fraternising with Yaya before Sunday – no phone calls, no messages, no feeling.
“We are both going to war. We will both want to win and then we will talk after.”

The defender has admitted that he is not sure of a starting berth against the Citizens after being dropped for the Reds 1 – 0 win over Augsburg in the Europa League.
The however said he hoped to start in the final given that he and Dejan Lovren are the only fit senior center-backs for the final.
“I don’t know if I was rested but the most important thing is that the team won and we went through,” he said.
“I hope the manager is holding me back for Sunday but we will have to see. I thought Lucas played very well back there. He were very strong defensively.
“Of course you want to play every game but for me the team comes first. If I get to play on Sunday then great, if not I will just wait for the next game.”
It would be Toure’s first appearance at Wembley since he was a losing semi-finalist for Arsenal, against Chelsea, in April 2009.
“For me it’s going to be amazing,” he said.
Liverpool qualified for the final after defeating Stoke City 6 – 5 on penalties after a 1 – 1 aggregate scoreline. The Reds defeated the likes of Southampton, Bournemouth and Carlisle United to get to the final.
Manchester City triumphed 4 – 3 on aggregate against Everton and defeated the likes of Hull City, Crystal Palace and Sunderland to reach her fifth final.
