Just In: Lagos shuts Ladipo market
– Ladipo market in Lagos has witnessed crisis in the past two days
– The state government deployed security operatives to seal it
There are indications that the Lagos state government has closed the popular Ladipo market in Lagos.
The reason for closing the market is not unconnected to the uprising in the market caused by clashes between the traders and security operatives which led to the death of a trader after some of the protesters allegedly fired gun shots.
The Sun reports that armed security men are the market to quell any crisis that might occour.
The market that is mostly dominated by Igbos selling spare parts and electronics witnessed a protest a day ago by the traders over alleged extortion by One Monday Ijoba employed by the state government to collect fees from the traders.
