Nintendo slashes annual profit forecast by 51 percent
Nintendo, it's fair to say, is in a holding pattern at the moment. The Wii U is effectively the home for Nintendo exclusives and not much else, the Nintendo NX remains still little more than vapourware at present, and its plans to enter the smartphone market are still yet to fully materialise.
The result isn't just bored gamers waiting for the next proper instalment of The Legend of Zelda. It's also forced the business to cut its profit estimates for the financial year. It's not just a light trim of the finances either -- Nintendo has hacked its net profit forecast for the year by more than half.
