A 25 year old man, Uwadiegwu Henry, and two others have been arrested by the police after a 40-year-old woman identified as Helen Peters allegedly died in their custody.
Henry and his accomplices, Monday Ochonu 25 and Taiwo Adebiyi, allegedly committed the offence at 36, Fashola Street, Papa Ashafa, in Agege area of Lagos.

According to the Tribune, Henry told the police that he was the boyfriend of the deceased.
He was said to have solicited the help of Taiwo, a nurse who supplied a Lagatine injection which was allegedly used to incapacitate the victim so as to kidnap her.
The third accomplice, Monday, was said to have tied the deceased’s hands and legs backward with a rope and also covered her mouth with a piece of cloth which suffocated her to death.
The original plan of the suspects was to kidnap the victim and thereafter extort money from her rich husband as ransom, but their plan backfired after the lady died in their custody.
In another development, a 13-year-old Ese Rita Oruru, has been kidnapped and forced into marriage by one man identified as Yinusa.
Yinusa allegedly kidnapped Ese, from Opolo, in Yenegoa, and took her to his residence in Kano state, and has since refused to let her go back to her parents, even after efforts have been made in that regard.
Ese’s parents have made several unsuccessful visits to Yinusa’s kinsmen in Kano, with the kinsmen insisting that Ese, who they referred to as ‘Aisha’, belonged to them and they were willing to pay the necessary bride price required of them.
