Daily Kos Elections Nevada Democratic caucus liveblog #1
Nevada Democrats are holding their presidential caucuses today (the GOP’s caucus is on Tuesday), and we’re liveblogging the results. The caucus begins at 2 PM ET.
Results: AP (statewide) | AP (by county) | NYT | Politico
The caucuses have just begun, but it’ll be a while before we get any results. In 2008 (the last time Democrats had a contested caucus here), the first results started coming in at about 3 PM ET, and the election was called an hour after that.
While you wait, you can check out our guide to the Nevada caucuses. The Nevada Dems also have their own results reporting site, and the countdown clock there indicates we have at least another hour and 20 minutes before we start hearing anything.
Note that as in Iowa, Nevada Democrats do not report the total number of votes for candidates. (Democracy, huh?) Instead, they report the number of county convention delegates each candidate earns. That’s a little different from Iowa, where they report “state delegate equivalents,” but the bottom line is, we won’t be seeing actual vote tallies.
