Ter-Petrosyan`s ANC fails to reach an agreement with Karapetyan`s "Strong Armenia" party
ArmInfo. The Armenian National Congress (ANC) has stated that it made every effort to form a broad coalition against the regime that is destroying the country in the upcoming elections with the "Strong Armenia" party, led by Samvel Karapetyan. However, the alliance failed to materialize, as noted in a statement issued by the ANC.
"We demonstrated maximum flexibility by not setting any preconditions for the creation of the bloc. For reasons beyond our control, this bloc did not materialize.
Therefore, the Armenian National Congress will participate in the elections separately, while remaining prepared to cooperate with both "Strong Armenia" and other political opposition forces during and after the elections, forming a coalition in parliament and saving the country from looming threats," the political party said in a statement received by ArmInfo.
It should be noted that the parliamentary elections in Armenia will be held on June 7. The current ruling party, Nikol Pashinyan's "Civil Contract", the "Armenia" bloc of second president Robert Kocharyan, the "Strong Armenia" with Samvel Karapetyan bloc, and Gagik Tsarukyan's "Prosperous Armenia" party have already announced their intention to participate.
