Angelo Leo Defends IBF Featherweight Title Against Ra’eese Aleem In Atlanta, May 9
Salita Promotions heads to Atlanta, GA on May 9th to promote the IBF featherweight championship between champion Angelo Leo and #1 contender Ra’eese Aleem. The bout will take place at the Gateway Center Arena in the Atlanta suburb of College Park.
For Leo, it will be the second defense of the title he ripped from then champ Luis Alberto Lopez via KO-of-the-year in the 10th round in August of 2024. He has since defended against Tomoki Kameda on the challenger’s home soil via majority decision last May. Leo previously held the WBO Jr. Featherweight crown, losing it in his first defense in January, 2021, to Stephen Fulton. To date that is Leo’s only defeat, coming in at 26-1, 12 KOs.
For Aleem, this marks his first crack at a world title. After campaigning at Jr. Featherweight for his first twenty fights, Aleem came up short in enemy territory as he dropped a split decision to Aussie Sam Goodman Down Under. Aleem moved up to featherweight where he’s notched three straight wins, coming in to this fight at 23-1, 12 KOs.
The fight will air live on DAZN. Tickets on sale this Friday HERE.
