"Telephone justice" should have worked against Electric Networks of Armenia CJSC as well, as stated by former CEO David Ghazinyan to journalists on March 13, when commenting on the Constitutional Court's decision on the legislative package adopted by the country's parliament regarding the nationalization of ENA.
Recall, the day before, the CC found the package to be in line with the provisions of the country's Basic Law. Opposition deputies of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia filed an appeal to the court in the summer of 2025.
In this regard, Ghazinyan noted, as events unfold, his hope for justice from the judicial system is diminishing. "It's unclear why they're so short-sighted. Ultimately, pursuing justice doesn't mean overstepping their principles. In any case, God be their judge; if that's the decision, so be it," Ghazinyan noted, adding that no negotiations regarding the buyout price were held with the current owners of the networks, represented by Samvel Karapetyan's family.
According to the former CEO, the final deadline for submitting price proposals from the RA government was February 21st. On February 17th, the RA Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure notified them of the corresponding letter, on February 20th the owners were notified orally, and the letter itself was received via HayPost on February 25th. "But even if the letter had arrived on February 17th, we would have needed time to respond. They did everything possible to prevent us from responding, since responding after February 21st was simply pointless; the deadline had already expired," David Dhazinyan. He added that under the current government, nothing can be ruled out, including the transfer of the networks to Turkish trust management. "The networks have always belonged to the people, even when they were owned by Samvel Karapetyan's family, and I am confident that they will continue to belong to the people. In any case, justice will be restored following the elections, and not just in this matter," the former CEO assured, urging all opposition forces to do everything possible to remove the current government.
