Putin expressed condolences after Khamenei`s assassination
ArmInfo. Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his condolences to Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian over the assassination of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. The Kremlin press service published a telegram on behalf of the head of state.
The Russian president described the ayatollah's death as a "cynical murder that violates all norms of human morality and international law."
"In our country, Ayatollah Khamenei will be remembered as an outstanding statesman who made an enormous personal contribution to the development of friendly Russian-Iranian relations, elevating them to the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership," the telegram reads.
