Aram Sargsyan Republic Party`s candidate for Armenian premier
ArmInfo.Aram Sargsyan, the chairman of the pro-Western Republic Party, the head of the Armenian Cabinet from 1999 to 2000, and the younger brother of assassinated Prime Minister Vazgen Sargsyan, will be the prime minister candidate for the upcoming parliamentary elections.
Sargsyan announced this in a video posted on the party's social media page.
"Our party made a decision on this issue long ago, and it will be officially submitted for discussion: I will definitely be the prime minister candidate, and I think that's natural. It's not that I dream of becoming a prime minister candidate," he noted.
Sargsyan believes that the National Assembly of Armenia should have a force that espouses Western values.
