NBA great Moses Malone dies at 60
NBA Hall of Famer Moses Malone died Sunday at age 60, the Philadelphia 76ers said. Malone, who played on the 76ers' 1983 championship team, is still the league's all-time leader in offensive rebounds.
Malone, who notably skipped college to go pro, was a three-time MVP and a 12-time All-Star pick. When the center retired in 1995 after 19 seasons, Malone was the last active player who had also participated in the defunct American Basketball Association.
"His generosity, towering personality and incomparable sense of humor will truly be missed," the 76ers' statement read. A cause of death hasn't been disclosed.
