Blizzard unveils StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void release date, opening cinematic
Blizzard must have a ton of faith in StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void. Today we finally heard a release date for the long-awaited Protoss campaign and of all the remaining Tuesdays in 2015 Blizzard picked November 10.
Also known as “Fallout 4 day.”
Even weirder: XCOM 2 just abandoned that November 10 date a few weeks ago and delayed its release until February—whether because of StarCraft II rumblings or Fallout 4 or some combination of the two, I’m not sure.
It is what it is. Regardless, you can catch Legacy of the Void’s opening cinematic below:
It’s the usual sort of epic you expect from Blizzard cinematics, with Protoss and Zerg arrayed against each other for one last climactic battle. Legacy of the Void wraps up nearly twenty years of StarCraft, acting as conclusion to threads not only established in StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty and Heart of the Swarm but in StarCraft and Brood War all those years ago.
