Shania Twain Rocks L.A. So Hard, the Power Cuts Out
One of the hottest tickets in Los Angeles Thursday night was Shania Twain’s show. The country superstar brought her “Rock This Country” tour to the Staples Center and rocked so hard, the power went out!
Shania was in the middle of performing her hit “That Don’t Impress Me Much” when a nearby underground explosion caused the technical glitch. The stage lights went off, the house lights came on and the audience was a little confused, as was the singer herself – for a second.
She exited briefly then returned and resumed the song, only to be plagued by a faulty mic that wouldn’t work! But Twain proved she’s been doing this for a while, and was a total pro – taking the opportunity to improvise and chat with the crowd, giving the arena show a sense of warmth and intimacy.
Twain even called out an audience member who apparently was an actual rocket scientist – which was fitting, given that one of the lyrics in her famous hit is “OK, so you’re a rocket scientist – that don’t impress me much!” (But she was impressed enough to take a photo with the fan!)
She then resumed the song and the show, proving that yes, she’s “Still The One” and still got it!
