Minasyan: Armenia has unlimited export potential within Eurasian Economic Union

YEREVAN, August 21./ARKA/. Business, construction and IT services worth $400 million are exported from Armenia every year, but the country has an unlimited potential within the Eurasian Economic Union, Karine Minasyan, a member of the Eurasian Economic Commission’s board, said Thursday at a round-table discussion in Yerevan.  

“The most interesting for Armenia’s services export are construction services, information technologies, tourism and business services (architecture, audit, accounting, management and governance),” she said.
“This is a number of services where we are moving toward liberalization.”

Minasyan said the Eurasian Economic Union cross-border market in these segments amounts to $50 to 60 billion. 

“Import of construction services in the union member countries amounts to about $10 billion, IT and telecommunication services $7 billion and business services $30 billion,” she said. 

She also said referring to the results of a study of one of Russian companies that about 20% of services will be provided remotely, which will bring solutions to some migration problems. 

According to the National Statistical Service of Armenia, the country’s foreign trade turnover shrank 24% in Jan-July 2015, compared with the same period a year before, to $2520.8 million. ---0---
