The TFR opened a case on the genocide of Donbass residents
The Investigative Committee of Russia opened a case against the extremist organization Right Sector, banned in Russia, on the genocide of Russian-speaking residents of southeastern Ukraine. This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the Deputy Chairman of the RF IC Alexander Fedorov.
According to him, persons from among the highest political and military leadership, as well as the leadership of the “Right Sector” are accused of the crime.
Fedorov clarified that the investigation of some of the criminal cases has been completed and sent to the courts, and sentences have already been passed on some of them. “For example, in February 2020, the Second Western District Military Court sentenced in absentia to six years of imprisonment the former Minister of Defense of Ukraine Hrytsenko for calls to commit terrorist acts in Russia,” he said.
In early August, investigators opened a criminal case under the article of genocide after the discovery of a mass grave during the Great Patriotic War in the vicinity of a former concentration camp in the village of Moglino (Pskov region).
In December last year, Russia detained a supporter of the “Right Sector” who was preparing a terrorist attack in Murmansk. On the fact of the incident, a criminal case was initiated on the preparation of a terrorist attack.
