‘True Detective’ Season 3 in the Works at HBO, Adds ‘Deadwood’ Creator David Milch
President of HBO Programming Casey Bloys insisted at a Television Critics Association presentation last year that the series “is not dead” despite its long hiatus.
“True Detective” Season 1, which starred Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson as a pair of Louisiana cops, was a hit with both viewers and critics, while Season 2 notoriously disappointed.
The series was notably absent from the network’s schedule last summer, replaced by the Riz Ahmed-led crime drama “The Night Of.”
