49ers’ Kaepernick still sidelined with shoulder injury
The 49ers quarterback didn’t throw today during a non-padded practice at Levi’s Stadium because of his lingering shoulder injury. Kaepernick hasn’t thrown since Wednesday, which was a day before a team spokesman said he didn’t throw during practice because he was being given a “scheduled rest day.” On Sunday, after the preseason loss to the Texans, head coach Chip Kelly was asked if there was a concern Kaepernick wouldn’t be able to practice against the Broncos on Wednesday and Thursday. Quarterback Thad Lewis sustained a torn ACL on Sunday and is out for the season.
