Daily Post gathered from the aid worker about the situation of things in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital. Musa said what they have been sseing on the field, the Boko Haram crises is far from being over in a short period.
The humanitarian worker stated: “There are certain local governments yet to be liberated, the Sambisa Forest still houses the Boko Haram group and places we have been visiting which hitherto are said to have been liberated still witness some pockets of attacks from time to time. The experience of UNICEF staff while coming back from Bama tells much on the level of safety in some of these liberated areas. We are still moving to other places but we are mostly using helicopter.

“Our drivers who uses the road to carry humanitarian relief material have been reporting shocking news that, sometimes the soldiers have to be shooting to create a battle ready situation in order to give warning signal to any would be Boko Haram fighter to stay clear of the road as they drove through some villages suspected to be points of attack or black spots.”
While continuing further, Musa said they are afraid that a good number of the non-governmental organisations are exposed to working with some supporters of the insurgents, who could be giving out information on their daily basis.
“Even if the crises is said to be over and there are no more attacks here and there, the humanitarian issue will take a longer time. I think we would still be around in the next 10 years from my own estimation, if not longer,” he concluded.
A non-governmental organisation by the name Girl-Child Right Awareness Initiative in Africa, recently advised the nation’s security outfits to swing into actions immediately regarding the current video released by Boko Haram terrorists on the kidnapped Chibok girls.
