Atiku pointed to the creation of a manageable two-party political system and the development of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) as some of the greatest legacies of IBB.
He also praised IBB’s character, noting that his personality also played major role in his achievements for Nigeria.
“The virtues of forgiveness and the magnanimous spirit of the former president is one of the magnetic and endearing features of his character.
”It is impossible to encounter IBB without being moved by his humility towards people, regardless of their social status in life.
”His detribalised nature and passion about Nigeria’s oneness are virtues worthy of emulation,” Atiku said in the statement which was signed by his Head of Media, Mr Paul Ibe, in Abuja on Monday.
Meanwhile, a major contender for the position of the national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Raymond Dokpesi recently declared that he would get Atiku Abubakar, Nigeria’s former vice president, Bukola Saraki, the Senate president, and all those who left the party in anger to return if he wins at the forthcoming convention.
