Cal announces new clear-bag policy
The enhanced screening procedure, announced Sunday in an athletic-department news release, will limit spectators at Memorial Stadium and Haas Pavilion to one large clear bag and a small clutch.
Before Sunday’s announcement, it still permitted draw-string bags, non-clear plastic bags and reusable bags.
In the wake of recent high-profile tragedies in public areas, all NFL and MLB facilities have upped their screening procedures.
The Oakland Raiders, Golden State Warriors, San Francisco 49ers and Stanford Cardinal adopted measures similar to what Cal is implementing.
Dykes said the Rainbow Warriors, who are under first-year head coach Nick Rolovich, present “a little bit of unknown.”
Wide receiver Greyson Bankhead, who suffered a broken leg in a moped accident last month, was back watching practice.
