2015 Mercedes-AMG S 63 inside and out
This may be the most attractive melding of automotive form and function I’ve run across recently, blessed with enough attitude you know it means business — a claim it handily backs up — without resembling an excessive military expenditure.
Despite its considerable span the S-Class coupe is lean and flowing, highlighted by typical Mercedes’ scalloping and AMG ducting. Afar and alone, it appears smaller than reality, its defining feature the side window aperture uninterrupted by any pillar — whenever I could, I left the dual-panes down.
On the inside, luxurious finishes abound and every detail feels carefully considered, which only makes the singular bits of hard plastic on the seat hinges stand out when the door’s open. I was almost disappointed to find mesquite smoke or burnt rubber not among the climate control atomizer options.
