Verizon, or more specifically it's newly formed digital media division Oath, has an intriguing new plan. It wants to put together a wireless data powerhouse in its quest to challenge Facebook and Google in digital advertising.

Specifically, the company wants to rent reams of consumer data from major competitors like Sprint, T-Mobile, Vodafone and Telefonica that can be used for ad targeting.

Call it the Hulu of wireless data.

You probably never heard of him before, but Marc Short is that balding guy who was on Fox News on Sunday. The event was a bit strange, in the sense that it was the first TV appearance in his long political-managerial career.

The charges were unrelated to the shooting, though police planned to interview him about the gun play that left over two dozen people wounded.

Now that Kobe Bryant is retired he has gone all-in on the investment and business world, something he prepared for by leaning on billionaire investor Chris Sacca. But even though Kobe is done playing basketball, that doesn't mean he isn't still driven by some of the slights that happened to him during his NBA career.

After more than 20 years, Jim Quigley left his job at a Wall Street investment firm for a smaller market. He got elected town supervisor in Ulster, New York, about 100 miles north of Manhattan. Population: 12,251.  

“My family's been in this community since 1849,” Quigley said.
