Weather in Kazakhstan on January 26: storm warnings in Almaty, Shymkent and several regions

Tengrinews.kz – On Monday, January 26, weather may deteriorate in a number of regions and cities of Kazakhstan, including Almaty and Shymkent. In this regard, Kazhydromet forecasters have issued storm warnings.

In Abai Region, snow and blizzard are expected. In the south and east of the region, forecasters predict fog. The wind will be south-easterly; in the southwest and central parts of the region, gusts will reach 15–20 metres per second.

In the south and east of Akmola Region, snow and drifting snow are possible. At night and in the morning in the south and east of the region, fog is expected.

During the day in the south, east and central parts of Aktobe Region, forecasters predict snow and drifting snow. The wind will be north-easterly; during the day in the south, east and central areas, gusts will reach 15 metres per second.

From 26 to 28 January in the north and south of Almaty Region, fog and icy conditions are expected at times. The wind will be south-easterly, shifting to north-easterly. On 27–28 January in the east of the region, wind gusts are forecast to reach 15–20 metres per second. In Konaev, on the nights and mornings of 26–28 January, forecasters predict fog and ice on the roads.

In the west, south and east of Atyrau Region, snow and drifting snow are expected.

At night and during the day in the west, north and east of East Kazakhstan Region, snow and blizzard are possible. In the west, north and south of the region, fog is expected. The wind will be south-easterly; during the day in the north and east of the region, gusts will reach 15–18 metres per second.

At night and in the morning in the north, west, east and mountain areas of Zhambyl Region, snow and drifting snow are expected. Fog and ice are possible at times. The wind will be south-easterly; at night in the southwest and mountain areas, and during the day in the mountains, wind speeds will reach 15–20 metres per second. In Taraz, fog and icy conditions are expected at times.

At night in the north, east, centre and mountain areas of Zhetysu Region, snow is expected. Snow will also fall during the day in the east and mountain areas of the region. In the north, east, centre and mountains, fog, ice and drifting snow are possible at times. The wind will be south-easterly; in the east and mountain areas, gusts will at times reach 15–20 metres per second. In Taldykorgan, fog and icy conditions are expected at times at night.

In the west and south of West Kazakhstan Region, light snow and drifting snow are possible. In the north and east of the region and in Oral, forecasters predict fog at night and in the morning.

At night in Karaganda Region, snow and drifting snow are expected. Snow and blizzard are also possible during the day in the north, east and south of the region. In the west, north and east, forecasters predict fog. Fog is also expected at night and in the morning in Karaganda.

In the west, north and south of Kostanay Region, forecasters predict fog.

In the morning and during the day in the west, north and centre of Kyzylorda Region, icy conditions are expected. In the centre, north and south of the region, fog is expected. In Kyzylorda, forecasters predict fog at times and ice during the day.

At night and during the day in the west, north and centre of Mangystau Region, ice is possible. It will also be slippery in Aktau. In the west, south and centre of the region, fog is also forecast.

In the west, south and east of Pavlodar Region, snow and blizzard are expected. In the north of the region, fog is possible. The wind will be north-easterly; in the west, south and east, gusts will reach 15–20 metres per second. In Pavlodar, snow, blizzard and fog are expected.

At night and in the morning in the south and mountain areas of Turkestan Region, ice is possible. In the west, north, south and mountain areas of the region, forecasters predict fog. The wind will be south-easterly; at night and in the morning on the mountain passes of the region, 15–20 metres per second. In Turkestan, fog and icy conditions are expected at times.

At night in the north, east and centre of Ulytau Region, snow and drifting snow are expected. During the day, snow and blizzard will reach the west, south and centre of the region. In the north, south and centre, fog is possible. Fog is also expected at times in Zhezkazgan.

In Shymkent on 26 January, forecasters predict fog and icy conditions at times.

In Almaty, on the nights and mornings of 26–28 January, fog and ice are also expected.
