Deadly crash near Almaty: third Indian student dies
Tengrinews.kz – A student injured in a serious traffic accident near Almaty has died in hospital, bringing the death toll to three. The information was published on the Facebook page of the Embassy of India in Kazakhstan.
According to the statement, Rahul Yadav, born in 2001, died on the morning of January 9 in intensive care.
The accident occurred on January 6 at the 86th kilometer of the Almaty–Bishkek highway. A Toyota Alphard carrying five passengers — all Indian citizens — overturned. Four of them were students of the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy in Shymkent, and one was a tourist. They were traveling from Shymkent to Almaty.
According to preliminary information, the 33-year-old driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to overturn. The driver died at the scene from his injuries. Two passengers later died in hospital, while three others were hospitalized with injuries of varying severity.
