Kurt Kitayama Is Getting Married to Future Wife Eunice Chunn
Professional golfer Kurt Kitayama's marital status has long been the speculation of fans, who wondered whether he has a wife or girlfriend.
He answered that question in a big way in December, sharing a string of engagement photos on Instagram showing him proposing to his girlfriend, Eunice Chunn. "Well I tried…… just kidding she said yes! 11.28.25 ????" Kitayama wrote, alongside a carousel of photos showing the golf pro with his future wife. It's not clear which date was set for the wedding. He posted the engagement announcement on December 15.
The photos and video show Kitayama pulling out a ring before getting down on one knee to pop the question on a bridge. Kitayama was ranked third on the Masters leaderboard on April 10 after Rory McIlroy and Sam Burns.
Chun's Instagram page, which Kitayama tagged in the post, is set to private.
Kurt Kitayama Has Career Earnings of More Than $17 Million
Most of Kitayama's Instagram posts focus on his career and sponsorships.
According to the PGA Tour, Kitayama has two PGA Tour wins. He has earned more than $17 million during his professional golfing career.
"Not many people know that he played basketball in high school. Started at point guard for the Chico High School varsity basketball team as a junior and senior, with Kitayama helping the team win Northern Section titles in 2010 and 2011," his PGA Tour bio says.

According to the PGA Tour bio, Kitayama is not the only athlete in his family. "Older brother (by five years), Daniel, played one season (2006-07) of college golf at University of Hawaii-Hilo, an NCAA Division II program," the bio says.
"After he gave up competitive golf, Daniel picked up work as a caddie at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort, which led to him participating in a caddie exchange program for six months at Cape Kidnappers Golf Course in New Zealand."
Of Kurt Kitayama's career path, the bio adds, "Played four seasons at University of Nevada-Las Vegas (2011-15), where he earned three individual victories, including individual medalist honors at the 2015 Mountain West Conference Championship. Earned All-Mountain West First Team honors in 2014 and 2015."
Kurt Kitayama Was Born to Parents Who Are of Japanese Heritage
Kitayama's mother, Rumiko Kitayama, was born and raised in Japan "and settled in California when she married Cliff Kitayama, who grew up in Redwood City, Calif., but is of Japanese descent," according to a profile story in Power Fades.
"I used to think that golf professional was not a real job,” Rumiko told the site. That article says that Daniel has caddied for his brother.
"American Professional Golfer Kurt Kitayama was born in Chico, CA, a few miles north of Sacramento. Clifford and Rumiko Kitayama, his devoted parents, have supported him since the beginning," a bio on the website of the Kurt Kitayama Foundation says.
"His brother, Daniel Kitayama played golf as a young athlete too. During their free time, you could find them on the green at Butte Creek Country Club. You could also find Kitayama on the basketball court and believe it not, golf was not his first pick. He played basketball for Chico Senior High School and his AAU team, Chico Blazin Heat. It wasn’t until his junior year of high school that Kitayama turned his sights onto the golf course full time."
