Natasha Lyonne Escorted Off Delta Flight Hours After 'Euphoria' Season 3 Premiere
Hours after appearing at the Season 3 premiere of HBO's Euphoria at the TLC Chinese Theatre in Hollywood on Wednesday, the Russian Doll and Poker Face star was escorted off a Delta red-eye flight bound for New York, where she was apparently headed to appear on the The Drew Barrymore Show, according to eyewitnesses.
Lyonne — who joined Euphoria's cast as a guest star — was spotted in her first class seat wearing the same black stockings and wraparound shades from the premiere, paired with sneakers and a long black coat. According to a witness, she appeared "out of it" and did not respond when flight attendants repeatedly asked her to close her laptop and fasten her seatbelt for takeoff. Her laptop was eventually taken from her hand, and the plane taxied to the runway before turning back to the gate.
Natasha Lyonne Was Asked If She Needed Medical Attention on Delta Flight
A Delta staffer then boarded the plane and asked Lyonne if she needed medical attention before telling her the plane would not be going anywhere until she got off. When asked where they were, Lyonne was told they were still in Los Angeles.
She shushed the gate agent, then calmly got up, went to the bathroom, emerged eating a bag of pretzels, and got off the plane — her luggage having already been removed.
The captain addressed the delayed passengers after she departed. "We have a passenger who for whatever reason wouldn't follow some basic commands," he said. "We had a passenger who didn't seem up to the task tonight so that's why they were asked to be booked on another flight."
The flight departed without further incident approximately one hour late.
Natasha Lyonne's Statement After Getting Booted from the Delta Flight
For her part, Lyonne was agitated that her flight snafoo caused her to miss her appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show. The actress posted a statement to X, saying "My heart is with all the unpaid TSA agents at our airports. Sure was looking forward to speaking honestly with Drew Barrymore yesterday but guess wasn’t in the cards. Who owns page six/New York Post now again?"
