MTV: Finland strips protection status from 14 on security grounds
Finland has revoked international protection status from 14 individuals since the start of 2025 on national security grounds, MTV News reported on Sunday, citing the Finnish Immigration Service.
The move follows legal changes that entered into force in January 2025, allowing authorities to withdraw refugee and subsidiary protection status where a person is deemed a threat to national security.
All 14 individuals affected are citizens of Iraq or Russia, according to MTV.
