Duke head coach Jon Scheyer provides update on injured big man
By JAMES MADDEN
Duke head coach Jon Scheyer held his first media availability in Greenville prior to his team’s game against Siena in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. The Blue Devils were without Patrick Ngongba II and Caleb Foster for the entirety of the ACC Tournament and will likely be without both again on Thursday.
Scheyer provided an update on Ngongba II’s availability.
“He’s been progressing. It’s very unlikely he plays tomorrow,” Scheyer said Wednesday. “We’re going to keep taking it day-by-day and he’s itching to play. We’re not quite there for tomorrow yet.”
Duke is already without Foster for the foreseeable future after he had surgery to repair a foot fracture earlier this month.
